Nashoba Gymnastics Academy Team
Our Teams | Team Highlights | Newsletters
Nashoba Gymnastics Academy offers USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic and Prep Optional competitive teams. Our teams are structured according to the USAG national guidelines and represent the academy at local, state, regional and national meets.

Competitive gymnastics affords athletes the opportunity to develop many important attributes that serve them beyond gymnastics and throughout their lives. Our goal is to provide gymnasts with the education and the mental and physical discipline required for training and competition. We accomplish this within a framework of positive reinforcement and encouragement and with a strong sense of team unity. Through our program, gymnasts develop discipline, self confidence and perseverance; most importantly, they learn to achieve their goals and realize their full potential.

Placement into our Team Program is by invitation only. If you have interest in any of our teams and would like to schedule a visit to the gym and/or an evaluation, please contact Christy Walsh-Phipps, Team Director and Head Coach, at christywalsh1@me.com or Glen at nashobagymnastics@charter.net.

Pre Team (Hot Shots and Rising Stars)
Our Rising Stars are usually discovered in the Kinderkids or Preschool Classes. This is the beginning stages of team gymnastics. They learn about conditioning, flexibility, and the importance of focus. These gymnasts train 1.5-4 hours a week.

Prep Optional
The Prep Optional team is for girls who enjoy being part of a competitive gymnastics team but cannot commit to train the long hours. These gymnasts train 3-9 hours a week and typically compete in 4-6 meets per year.

Compulsory (Levels 1-6)
The Compulsory level gymnasts compete using routines designed by USAG to develop required skills and technique. Gymnasts within each level compete the same routines. These gymnasts train 8-12 hours a week and typically compete in 6-10 meets per year.

Optional (Levels 7-10)
The Optional level gymnasts compete with individualized routines created to highlight each gymnast’s artistic and athletic talents. These gymnasts train 12-18 hours a week and typically compete in 8-10 meets per year.
